The carbon lower tank cover (upper part) for the BMW R 1300 GS is the upper part of the two-piece side tank cover

It occupies a central position on the motorcycle and is highly visible due to its location. Its sporty and elegant appearance gives your bike a touch of luxury. Made from high-quality carbon, this tank cover impresses with its lightness and robustness. The precise workmanship ensures a perfect fit and an elegant finish. The name Ilmberger stands for the highest quality and innovation in carbon manufacturing. Each part is produced in-house, using prepreg specially developed for Ilmberger as the base material. This is processed in a complex procedure in an autoclave, offering numerous advantages. Prepreg, a pre-impregnated carbon fabric, is characterised by an even resin distribution while also having a high fibre volume content. This results in maximum strength and increases the flexibility of the components. Processing in an autoclave, a high-pressure oven that operates under controlled temperature and pressure conditions, ensures perfect, even curing and a flawless surface. This method prevents air pockets in the material and ensures consistently high quality of the parts.
