Technical details

Prepreg is a pre-impregnated carbon fabric characterised by uniform resin distribution and a high fibre volume content. This results in maximum strength and increased flexibility of the components. Processing in an autoclave, a high-pressure oven, ensures perfect, uniform curing and a flawless surface. This method prevents air inclusions and guarantees consistently high quality. The carbon components are laminated by hand with great experience and care, ensuring consistent fibre alignment without distortion. After curing, the edges are precisely trimmed by robot to ensure a perfect fit and the highest quality.

Unique plastic powder coating

A globally unique step in Ilmberger’s production process is the complete plastic powder coating of all carbon components. This coating protects the parts against environmental influences and gives them an incomparable depth effect. No other carbon manufacturer offers this type of sealing, which prevents ageing of the components and significantly extends their service life. The final clear coat is high-gloss and ensures a perfect, smooth surface that further enhances the luxurious, sporty appearance of the carbon components. Every part leaving the production line is a masterpiece of engineering and design.
